Kevin R. Hershberger is an Emmy-nominated television director, specializing in historical documentaries, feature films, and recreations.
Based in Richmond, Virginia, he has over seventy awards and is the founder and owner of LionHeart FilmWorks, LLC. He is available as a director for hire to help all historical projects go from the page to the screen.

For more than a decade he has been creating American and military history documentary films and multi-part series covering scores of different subjects -- from Revolutionary and Civil War Battles to in-depth explorations of America's historical struggle with the legacy of African Slavery.
Through DVD, Blu-Ray, download, SVOD and broadcast, both domestic and international audiences have viewed the 100+ hours of dramatic and documentary content Kevin has produced with his company LionHeart FilmWorks, LLC. Along with over 1 million DVDs/Blu-Rays sold, Kevin has been honored with more than 70 national and international film festival and industry awards.

Kevin has a passion for taking projects from paper to screen. Some of his notable work includes, the feature film "Field of Lost Shoes" which was released in theaters nationwide, the Independent Civil War-set feature film "Josephine" from director and writer Rory Feek.

Kevin is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute. As a former US Army military intelligence officer and a lifelong reenactor, Kevin has a passion for elevating the portrayal of the military in film and television.
